Time for the Minelab Service Guys
As I posted before https://golddetecting.forumotion.net/t20695-i-think-i-m-the-first#198623
Here are some pictures cant tell you what a weird sight it is to see the coil just fall off:T10:
I'm also having trouble with the clasps slipping and shortening the shafts all the time and the battery connections turning of the machine off the pin in one of the arm rests also worked its way out. My machine is well used but never abused. I'm not knocking Minelab in any way they are my go to machines always have been and always will be.

Hi AD,
did Minelab cover your faults under warranty?
Clasps slipping is no good, coil falling out even worse.

Hey, AD.
How old is your SDC2300? It sure looks like it is well-travelled/well used.

I agree, it looks extremely "well used". Never seen ingress of dirt into the swivel area like that. Looks like the fitting has worked its way out and then broken the last bit due to pressure on the coil when in that state.
Was the tension screw slightly loose I don't think it would need much slack to allow the coil swivel to come adrift especially with the wear that that dirt would cause inside that fitting?
Edit: Just read the prior linked post, seems like the loose fitting has added to the problems that already existed.

Re: Time for the Minelab Service Guys
AussieDigger,
Every issue you listed Iv also had happen to me when my SDC was only 6 months old. It was all fixed under warranty but still not good enough. I also had my headphone jack fail a few months ago which was the 5th time my SDC went back.
My GPZ has only been sent back 3 times, so I guess things are improving over at ML?

Re: Time for the Minelab Service Guys
Me thinks you may be a bit heavy on your gear. Maybe in need of a little bit more tender loving care with it. But then with more moving, sliding & foldable parts the more the chances are of something crapping itself. Dust & dirt a killer on those parts in time.
Good luck out there
