In conjunction with Parks Victoria, Clean Up Australia Organisation and SITA Australia, PMAV (Prospectors & Miners Association of Victoria),Bendigo, Ballarat & Central Goldfields branches, will be having our Clean up Our Parks day.

We will be camping in at the Notley camping ground from Friday 21st November, through to Sunday 23rd November. We will meet in the camping ground around 9 am. We will have a quick induction & meeting and will kick off about 10 am. Rita Bentley our President will be attending this event along with her husband David.

This is a great initiative by three branches as we have seen a large amount of dumped rubbish in our National Parks. We realise, Parks Victoria don't have the resources to clean it up so we have decided to do the work ourselves.
We are contributing all our energy, enthusiasm and manpower for the day and are seeking the broader community, like avid prospectors, four wheel drive, caravan and bird watching clubs to come on board and support this wonderful event. You do not have to be a PMAV member to attend.

Even if its only for a couple of ours, your time and effort would be very much appreciated.
Bendigo & Ballarat branches will clean up the Notley Camping ground, Whipstick National Park, Bendigo. The Central Goldfields branch will clean up on Havelock Nature Reserve, Havelock-Carisbrook Road, Havelock, Maryborough. The meet up point is United Kingdom Track. PMAV signs will be displayed for directions. Please contact Bill Shultz (Wombat) from Central branch on 0419 008 548.
There will be a BBQ and soft drinks that will kick off around 12.30 pm.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers

Lynnie Hindle
PMAV Bendigo Branch
President

As what Lynnie has said, we to at the PMAV Central Goldfield Branch of the PMAV are holding their "Clean Up Your Parks Day" on Saturday 22nd Nov starting at 9am under the guidance of "Parks Victoria". The area that we will be cleaning is the "Havelock Native Conservation Reserve". This is also a goldfield that we can detect in. We plan to meet at the junction of the Carisbrook-Havelock Rd and United Kingdom Tk. Maryborough. The PMAV banner will be out at that junction point. There will be a brief induction of what to expect in the way of rubbish and how to handle it. We plan to split up into small groups and each group having their own section of the park to clean. This way we think with a combine effort it should only take 4 to 5hrs to do a fair amount of the Park. After that we can sit back relax and Parks Vic. are going to put on a BBQ. The clear up is also registered with the "Clean Up Australia Organisation" You do not have to belong to the PMAV to join in, it is open to anyone that wants to come along and give us a hand.
Now lets show the "Greens" and anyone else that thinks that the prospecting community only takes and does not give a dam about our parks or the environmemt. But to do this we need as many people as possible to attend. So please come along and give us a hand. All the cleaning gear will be provided by Parks and Clear Up Australia. But we need a couple of trailors just to go around and collect the rubbish from the different groups in the area. Also any one with two-way radios, bring them along as well please. Most tracks in the area are 2wheel friendly.

Great to hear everything is now in place Wombat Very Happy Very Happy

I have sent notification to WIN News and to the Bendigo Advertiser. I think this is wonderful that three PMAV branches have committed themselves in letting the Greens know, that something needs to be done about this. A week before the State elections, should see the Greens take more notice of what we are doing Laughing We have the help of three members with trailers too. Yes tracks into Notley camping ground and surrounding, are 2 wheel friendly also.

So come on board and help us clean up!! It only has to be for an hour. Your time and effort will be very much appreciated.

If you have any queries, please post them here, so Wombat and I can answer them or you can private message us too

Cheers
