A few Questions about the GPX 5000 Empty A few Questions about the GPX 5000

Hello All,

A few questions about the GPX 500. Have decided to bite the bullet and purchase a brand new one so you can rest assured Minelab will release a new detector within weeks of my purchase.  Q03

Anyway, a few questions if I may.

I live in the Pilbara in a with lots of Iron Ore in the ground, how much will this affect it and is there particular settings for being in this kind of dirt?

When purchasing brand new, can you guys recommend any sellers that will offer the most in a "package"? What kind of inclusions are going around these days?

What coil would you recommend for the Pilbara?

 Q08

Thanks.

Sorry, one more question, I know that the GPX5000 has been around for a while now, is there different versions or models of it? Later upgraded models or are they all the same since the first ones were released?

Thanks.

Hi Slugsbrother
All minelab detectors will respond to high iron, even the latest sdc.Not sure about your area maybe your can talk to a local detectorist about this.
I can imagine coils like the 12x24" or 17x11"NF or equivalent would be suitable for you for good ground coverage and depth.
I'm not aware of any differences between releases of the 5000.
It may be good for you to negotiate a package tailored for your needs.
