THE PROSPECTORS PATCH SELLS DEUS
Can I bring to your attention that the above seller advises me that they dont go on forum;s for whatever reason.I had asked of them some weeks ago if they were going to test the Deus in the Goldfields now that it has a Gold program,I was advised by Jamie the proprieter that they were and would advise me of the result. This has not happened as yet ,I contacted them this morning and his wife advised me that they dont go on forums but YES Deus owners have found Gold with the deus. All very incomplete and I would think not good selling info for the Deus.

QUESTIONS
Hi Joe. do you own a Deus ? if so what can you tell us about it ,have you used it in the goldfields? If you dont own one and have not tried one dont you think it is a bit unfair to criticise it.Please tell us why you dont like Deus. thousands of Deus owners swear by them !!!

Youve missed the point !!!
The deus is NOT a designated Gold machine unlike the MINELABS but it IS able to find gold.Besides as I have pointed out before it is able to find lots of other stuff as well, it is Not a designated beach machine either but unlike the Explorer it only weighs a fraction of the weight of the Explorer and it can be updated for FREE,they are all positives as far as I am concerned. As I have also mentioned on many occasions having owned lots of the MINELABS I am in a position to Judge without prejudice. With Minelabs you get Koss earphones something which I advised Minelab about years ago,I have always criticised the price of minelabs and the weight, two very relevant factors as far as I am concerned.I have also praised minelabs for their technology on lots of occasions and will repeat it for your benefit, They would be one of the leaders in metal detection on an International basis. Maturity of expression only comes with age. Can I add to this discussion the fact that The Deus has only been around here in Australia for a very short time and that supplies in the early introduction were scarce whereas users in Europe have had the Deus for a few years more however the sales of the machine in Holland,Russia, France and lots of other European countries are high. You just need to read reports on the forums of the above countries to discover exactly what and where this machine is popular.I hope I have been able to clarify the true situation regarding support for the Deus here in Australia at this time.

Re: THE PROSPECTORS PATCH SELLS DEUS
hi bryan
no I have not missed your point.
your point is the deus is lighter than a minelab,
cheaper than a minelab
and can be upgraded for free.
all good points.
my point is the deus is a European relic detector that does not work very well in our mineralised ground and can't handle the salt at the beach all that well either and cost's $1800.
if you compare the deus with a detector in it's own class the deus does not come up looking so good.
for example...
the tecknetics t2 is just as light
at $900 is half the price of the deus
and works pretty good in aussie conditions, goldfields, parks and beachs.
the gold bugs are cheaper aswell and work just fine in our conditions.
these two machines can't be upgraded for free like the deus but since they already work just fine so that is not an issue.
theres no point being able to upgrade programmes to a machine that does not work that good here to start with.
and you also forgot to mention the design fault with the deus, the fact that the recharge/coil port has very flimsy brass pins in it that break unless
you are super carefull.
now don't take this post personal as you should notice that I stuck to the facts about the detectors, I did not mention that you have told people
that are unsure if the deus will suit them, that they should buy one and if they don't like it they can sell it for "the full price they bought it for and get ALL there money back"....
I realise that you like the deus because your now older and you can swing the dues all day, but there are cheaper/better detectors out there that are just as light and work in our conditions without waiting for new programmes to get them to work.
cheers

YOU STILL DONT GET IT!!!!!
I will ask you the same questions about the Deus NOT Dues as you keep on calling it.Q1 do you own one.Q2 have you tried one.If not then dont criticise it by showing your prejudice to it.You say that it is NO good in the mineralised ground that we have in Australia, if you have proof otherwise then tell us about it.what I said in my post was all factual ,I dont have any prejudice against the Minelabs, I have preference for another machine which as you say is lighter and at my age is more suitable to me.I really dont care about any of the other machines which you mentioned I am happy with the one that I have, as for the problem with the charging clip it is not a major one and does not render the machine unusable,it is flimsy and if not wiggled about when being attached for charging will last for years and only costs about $29 to replace with a spare.Having owned all of these in the past ie.Garret .Whites.Fisher, Tesoro Golden sabre. Silver sabre, Cutlass,Bandero, and the followihg Minelabs.Sovereign,Explorer,SD,and having detected in USA.UK.Australia and also in Asia I have had some of the best experiences that one could ever have thanks to whatever brand of metal detector I was using at the time.

bryan
I think you have misunderstood why I have put that info up....
i'm not trying to get you to use a different detector...
I just don't want to see anyone else make the mistake of spending $1800 on a single frequency vlf detector that was designed as a relic detector for European conditions based on your "its lighter and cheaper than a minelab" post's when there are cheaper detectors out there that work great and are just as light.
the info is just to let any newby's know there's better options out there so they can make an informed choice without wasting money....
cheers
