Where to start?

OK, this is a long shot but I will ask anyway. Can anybody give me some rough info on where there is a chance out East of Gascoyne Junction in West Aust. After 15 years away from detecting I have just bought a new Fisher Gold Bug Pro, and need to get out and learn how to drive it, as it is very different to my 20 year old Minelabs. From Carnarvon the Junction is the nearest area, I just need some rough directions from the Gascoyne Junction caravan park, to an area that has produced something.

I probably should add, this new Fisher is 100% Electronic, no nuts and bolts, so if anybody has any tips on how to use it I will take everything on board.

I wish I could help.. But nah!! Don't know that area, also never used a fisher gold bug..
 

Thanks Jen, I got into Metal Detecting back around 1978 and after 20 plus years moved to Carnarvon. Then it was decision time, Detecting or Fishing and Fishing won. Now it is time for a change, again.

If only prospecting was like fishing. I would love a nugget catch my detector lol..

Joshybear05, maybe if you use a very small hook and pick the right bowl, you might catch a Gold Fish. I am not sure about the reception you will get from The Perth Mint though.

Get a geological map of the region you are interested in.
Get on one of those gold hunting tours. There some good ones over there in the west.
