Where can I sell Gold
We sold some today in Perth to The Mint. You go to 131 Horrie Miller Drive, which is the road to the International airport. This place was previously known as AGR Matthey. (The signs still say AGR) Between 9am & 3pm for lodgements. They give you current gold price minus about $290.00 for the processing fee. The money will be deposited to your bank account within 3 days. We were given a value this morning of $1250.56 per oz. And so are very happy, the lady in the office told us that she had seen quite a few clients this morning due to the higher value. Hope this helps,
Shell,
ps If you do a search online there is also another (Mint) office somewhere in Perth that accepts gold but I'm not sure the address.

Where can I sell Gold
pps
Regarding the above message. Selling to The mint is a great way to easily sell gold, but you may wish to wait until you have several ounces, otherwise the processing fee will bite into your payout.

Re: where can I sell some gold in WA
We use Peter W Beck in Adelaide. He charges a total of $121.00 for processing and you will also get paid for any silver content. You can ring them on their 1800 number and arrange a pick up in any town in Australia where Australian Air Express operates and that is in most. Your gold is then insured from the moment of pickup to delivery in Adelaide. It usually takes about 14 days for payment. You can choose to lock in the price of the day or wait and see if it goes up. If it goes up you win, down you lose. We usually prefer to lock in on the day. He takes nuggets and specimens.
We have been using them for years and have never had a problem. You can see their ad in the Australian Gold Gem & Treasure Magazine.
Cheers, Jim

Re: where can I sell some gold in WA
Don't forget to calculate the purity of your GOLD in the figures quote. That is generally 88-92% for WA and 92-98% for Vic gold. That could mean an extra 2 -12% less for your gold.

Re: where can I sell some gold in WA
Why would anyone go past Ebay for selling gold these days. I usually get absolute top dollar. Only fee is the small listing and success fee. Nuggets/gold seems to be averaging $40+ a gram.

Re: where can I sell some gold in WA
Gday
I have sold gold on ebay before but it can be hit and miss in regards to the $ per gram that you get, and sometimes you can have issues with the buyers making it frustrating, there can be several lots of fees involved, a listing fee, a final value fee, and if they pay by paypal then you cop a paypal fee, and then if you want to transfer your money from paypal to your bank account and its under a certain amount they charge you a fee for that too.
Its not as straight forward as you might think sometimes, and if you do your homework and calculate the fees charged overall you may find that you are not getting the $ per gram that you think you are, I have found it better to just save it up until you have several or more ozs and send it to the refiners, I dont use the ones here in WA (thats another story) but send it to Becks in SA.
cheers

Vic Gold and Relics in Clunes have an excellent reputation. They would be the buyer I would go to.
