Which double-d coil for small gold
Okay I'm new to using a minelab unit and have recently brought an sd2200d and want to pick up the sub grammers
I'm open to suggestions as to what double d coil would best suit my detector to easily pick up the subbies. I have had a look maybe a 10"x5" or 17"x11"?
I want to stay away from mono as I have been told they can be really noisy.

Re: Which double-d coil for small gold
Reymos, good choice of machine, I had one for a long while and absolutely loved it. Problem is though, that it's not really designed to pick up subbies and DD coils are not too sensitive so you will struggle. The 17x12 is roughly equivalent to a 14"DD round so that'll give you fairly good depth but it wont help too much with the subbies that you're chasing, but the 10x5"DD Joey will probably be your best choice for what you want. Monos - very noisy on the 22, even more so if you're running 7.3v.
Good luck out there...

G'day Reynos & welcome to the forum.
You've been told right. Grab yourself a Coiltek 11 inch round DD Pro coil, from Miners Den while they're on sale at the moment and Bob's your uncle for the sub grammers, especially on/over Victorian mineralized soil conditions.
Cheers Kon.

Pretty much the same thing Reymos, they're both 11"DDs just different manufacturing companies. Since you've already got it, learn to use the machine with that one as that'll give you the good balance between the small ones and also the deeper ones.
