Tried a few times never done any good.
Found an old coin near the Albion site.
Lot of deep mines.
Pretty steep and overgrown.
Which makes it hard to cover the groung thorougly.
So if youve got the time and patience who knows !
Probably has plenty of ground that has'nt been thrashed.
Has some small scale mining operations still going.

Steep, lots of overgrowth in some sections, found nice little 2.5g there but lots of rubbish around the old diggings, indicating the area is still relatively untouched. The areas where the large nuggets came out of are VERY overgrown with blackberries and bush. Large section near town is off limits to detecting/camping etc (went for a recon through that area and looks very good). As much as I'd love to detect the area more, I've found my time is better utilised elsewhere in the GT. Camped there during winter and it was artic, windy and wet!

pretty anywhere west of blackwood so long as not on the Lerderderg river so I believe.
After my extensive search in the area such as above I recommend going almost anywhere but there.... Trekked terrible terrain to find nothing what so ever

The Main problem is the very deep ground so if you do head out there you need to coil up then you run into the problem of having a very limited swing due to the density of the scrub out there.
