Yandoit South of Newstead VIC
Hi Gold Seekers,
I am looking at trying my luck in or around Yandoit.
I have a friend in Newstead who says that her father use to detect there in the early 90's. I have checked google maps and they arent particulaly helpful.
Can any of you give me some advice on where I should be looking I will be bush camping with the camper trailer.
Any rough maps would be a big help.

G'day Homebrewer,
Check out the DPI website, and type in "Earth Resources Online Store" There are lots of good geological maps you can download for free
There are a couple of Castlemaine maps that include the Yandoit area
Cheers..Dave

Re: Yandoit South of Newstead VIC
cheers for that, Printer one out. Very handy resource.
Now I just have to find some, going to start at Pick pocket diggings and might check out some diggings around Clydesdale. Fingers crossed.

My 1st Nugget....
Newstead/Yandoit paid off. The weather was very hot. Spent 2 hours at pick pocket diggings. I found this about 5 foot from a large mullock heap. Depth was around 5 inches. Not too sure how to upload a pic
