Which detector 4500 or 5000

Hi diggers, been swinging around the Clermont and Rocky/Gladstone areas with a 705. Have only been swinging for 2mths. About to sell my beloved boat, which will free up $5000. If I buy the 5000 no funds for extra coils and things. I buy the 4500 may have some change for a few coils. Wife has stated spend the $5000, and if I enjoy my new hobby ( which I will, just love the bush.) have a look at upgrading to the 5000 or the new ML detector when released.  I will be heading to Clermont may be 5 times a year for 5 day stints, and most other weekends getting at least 1 day in. Any thoughts on which way to go.

Polky, wise words of wisdom from wife on her part and welcome to the forum.You say you love the bush life, then If you can afford the best available, then go for the best and forget about saving a buck on a second hand 4500 nor wait till the next new model comes out(who knows when) and miss out on all up and coming prospecting adventures.In my opinion,a well tuned 5000 is currently the best metal detector available,for the purpose of gold detecting with the 4500 a close second.Always go for the most appropriate tool for the job and worry about the accessory side latter.Knowing that you've got the best available for the intended purpose,not only keeps the spirit on a tenacious high alert,but also gives you the best chances of lobbing on to gold.
Ahh,we are talking about gold prospecting aren't we?

Thanks Con, the 5000 it is. Few afternoon bourbons with the wise wife, same opinion as you why look at the 2nd best when you can afford the best. Man do I love the outdoors, most weekends are spent on the reef fishing or surfing weather permitting, or up the bush camping. Love my Life.
