Well I like to wish everyone a merry Xmas and a happy new year. Well I just to mention last weekend a mate and I went detecting to a regular spot of ours and have to say he manage to jag 3 little pieces for just under a gram and myself 1 little bit weighing just 0.52 even though the area has been done to death it still managed to produce little bits. We were both using our gpx 5000s. I have to admit at some stages during the day I was having trouble ground balancing in some spots, not sure if this was due to the ground being very hot from the sun or high mineral pockets in the ground but the best time to detect was early morning or late afternoon, these N.Q. Summers are a scorcher that's for sure. Anyway if all goes well I plan to go for a couple of days next week for another quick fix hopefully the gold gods are shining again lol.

Good on ya Lucky strike and welcome to the forum.Your right about paying attention to the times of day when swinging a coil during the hotter temperatures of the day,but I think you've already got it all worked out.The cooler the ground, the quieter and smoother your detector will run especially over sections or pockets of highly mineralized ground.

Cheers Kon. What a Face santa Q11 cheers

Welcome to the forum Lucky Strike.

Nice to get couple of pieces, always keep you motivated or a next swing.

Stay safe and be well prepared as FNQ is little bit hot/humid at the moment.

Good luck gold hunting....
