gold and oil

Is it true that oil will make gold float? been doing some reading and just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about this.

And when I say gold I mean flour gold

oil does float out gold. we pan with a few drops of detergent in the water.

Yeah I use detergent in my fine recovery sluice. What size particle would it roughly lift and does anyone know what the process is why does the oil stick to gold ? And if you do have oil on your gold could you just use degreaser to clean it?

hi bennie how are you going with you gold ? I've found the soap will pull down small nuggets back into my pan

The China stock market market crash is said to be affecting the oil market even more as china being one the largest oil consumer.

I think oil and gold prices will increase.

I think what your referring to is the use of different grade oils for specific gravity tests!

would make one hell of a mess doing anything else "everything would float" Bluck..

Even the oil from your hands will make flour gold float. Detergent the way to go. Good Luck.
