6 Gram Specimen in Quartz (Specific Gravity Test)
Hi All,
The last couple of weeks i have been having a swing for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning before the heat sets in and i pulled this Lovely piece of gold encased by its host.
Depth:- 4 inches and yes it sounded like a tin can and i dig every single thing and I'm glad i do.
Also swung the coil over Six subgrammers, Two 30 gram pieces of lead at two feet in depth and an old miners pick head also at the two foot mark.
Detector used:- Minelab 4500 with 11" Round coil......This machine is awsom and I'm extremely happy with it and the depths that it is achieving also picking up the smallest subgrammers too makes me very confident with its all round capabilities.
Overall Specific Gravity Test was 6.2 grams of Gold
Will i dong it on the head......Yes.
Do i think my 3500 would have seen it....No
HueyDuck....

Re: 6 Gram Specimen in Quartz (Specific Gravity Test)
Thankyou for all your kind comments, i really do need to thank all the above members who have unselfishly given there time, knowledge and have set me up to gain full advantage from this detector....i can't thank you enough and i am a true believer in whatever you put out there is what you get back. ....
blisters, i can tell you it was old timers workings and it was only 4 inches down....i will never know if it was dismissed as trash by other operators because it was dam loud, good luck out there.
Hueyduck....
