Beloka Gold
Hello, Just wondering if anybody has any panning detecting sluicing time in the Beloka Dalgety area. I was out there today and it looks quite good. I know there are alot of copper and tin mines as well as the odd gold mine. The river beds are dead dry at the moment so it would be awesome to detect. I was out near Dimboola. Found about 3 grams in the pan. Had no water for the sluice so brought a heap of dirt home to run.
if anyone has any info on the area id love to hear about it.
Thanks heap

Hi Jindy, I live near Horsham about an hour from Dimboola (assuming there isn't another '''''dimbola in NSW or something). I am curious to know if your creek has bedrock in it or is just sand and gravel. Not wanting to visit your creek or anything, but I am looking for creeks with bedrock in them within coowee of home and was just curious and it gives me a few more clues.
Good luck up there in Beloka.

Dimboola Homestead
Just to clarify I did mean Dimboola Homestead. Its just across the way from me a bit. The creek has bed rock waterfalls that are dry and its the bottom of these that work. Im sure the sand gravel beds are chocas too but you have to dig down a bit.The bedrock is broken up and goes across the creek not down along it so it is full of natural holding places. Even found some yabbies buried in the moist soil. Ive had people detect along the bedrock for some nice nuggets of about 2 to 4 grams. some where very small .3 .4s . even found one caught just at the top of a nice drop just caught in a little crevice before it would of fallen over the drop. Still looking for more historical info on the dalgety location. I see old digs everywhere but not sure what they were or how they worked them, And the oldtimers (no OFFENCE TO ANYONE Wont tell.)

Re: Beloka Gold
Ive been out there today. Detecting downstream maybe 3km of Dim. Masses of granite but concentrating on the dry gullies. No luck YET... I have permission at a great riverside area - non Dalgety side - about 2-3km downstream from Dim. Trout are happening also! Let me know when your ready to pan
