Pumas
US armed forces in WW2 let them go , they were mascots. If you are bored go to Gembrook Victoria and read about the wonders of the 1800's acclimatisation society
. I kid you not.

Re: ITS OFFICIAL! Vic Roads acknowledges existance of big cats in Victoria
I've read and heard alot of reports of big cats around Dunolly and Talbot area. Even found an article in one of the old gold n gem mags. Similar story to the Moose on NZ's Resolution Island.
Are they out there..... maybe? plenty of Roos, refugees & prospectors to eat.

Recent big cat encounter Beechworth Victoria
Howdy,
We had an encounter in Beechworth on the Australia day long weekend.
Did mention it somewhere here in the forum somewhere.
Also sent in a report to the big cat vic site.
I did not see it or hear it or notice it at all,
My partner did. I was 20-30 meters down stream.
It then ran away up stream from us.
Cheers.
Lee.
ps. Untill I get pictures and video its just a report.
Would recomend keep ur situation awareness up.
I was too busy keeping an eye out for snakes n spiders.
Will be going back to the area with game cameras at easter
and then once placed be down to bendigo/ballarat for a weeks digging.

Re: ITS OFFICIAL! Vic Roads acknowledges existance of big cats in Victoria
Easy to tell who stenciled that big cat pic on the sign. As you drive past that one towards Talbot not far along the road you will see a yellow letterbox on the same side of the road, maybe a k on, that letterbox has a camel stenciled on it exactly the same way. Years ago people down near there used to have a cardboard or plywood cutout big black cat that they would pull along with wire across a padock at dusk. Stooged heaps.

Wow, how concerning these stories are.
It's hard enough to get the missus out the bush camping with me as it is......with the spiders and snakes and creepy crawlies.
Golly Gosh she will never come now after I tell her about big black cats.
Such a shame...
