What about a 17 inch by 11 inch NFA coin l instead of the 18 inch NFA mono?

Hi in a post below I expressed an interest in getting an 18 inch round mono coil (for my 5000).

Was also giving consideration to the NFA 17 by 11 inch coil as another option, what do people think about this coil?

Hi Ant - Wedderburn probably 22 Feb - are you interested in coming over. As you can see above I am thinking about a big coil not sure to get the 18 inco round (I know the 14 inch round can be tricky to pinpoint or this one which may be easier to pin point but probably doesnt punch as deep.

I use both of these coils as my main coils, use the 17"NF as my all rounder and the 18"NF generally to go over an area seeking more depth. Both very good coils, especially when used in conjunction with each other.

I've used the 17 by 11 nf eleptical coil coupled with 5000.
My personal experience was that it was the best all round coil.
The coils I also used was the standard 11 in commander mono, 18 in round nf mono, 24 by 12 eleptical nf coil 18 in round mono from coiltek too.
The 17 was a killer on small gold as was the 11 in commander but the eleptical had better ground coverage but kept sensitivity.
To be honest I reckon the 17 is the best coil to have in your kit

Ended up buying a 17 by 11 inch NFA looking forward to trying it out!
