Hello all treasure hunters
gday to all...... very new to detecting here. Build my own detector being a "Gary Pulse 1" PI detector from scratch which has been a great project. I am very keen on gold detecting but predict that most detecting will be for coins etc as there are more opportunities close to home. Plan to but a "proper" detector someday that will provide a good balance of gold hunting and coin hunting capability and would value any suggestions on this.

Re: Hello all treasure hunters
G'day,
I also have built this detector and is only suited to beaches and soil that is not mineralised. Great project if you want a detailed understanding of how pulse induction detectors work. Also try building the surf pi of baracuda pi, both perform better than gary's pulse machine and work great with minelab mono coils. If searching for gold, it is important that your machine can ground balance. If you have good knowledge of electronics and know how to draw and etch circuit boards, have a crack at cloning the SD2000. The schematics that are posted Geotech website are correct, just go to http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?14001-Full-m-lab-SD2000-schematics. It is a costly and time consuming project, so your better of buying a secondhand SD2000.
Best of luck.
