Re: Crevicer Gold Sucker
It does work well enough to make me want to go and get lots more yabbies. It is also a hand operated water pump and water pumps are an allowable fossicking/prospecting tool.
Point noted re the bait slingshot. They work very well .....Hmmmmmm, Now how would I know that??

Re: Crevicer Gold Sucker
YumYum! I bought a yabbie pump too, although I haven't got out to use it here in SA.
However, I do have some good news ... I just bought this ------------->
A Room With A View!!(click the link)
I'm off to pay for it tomorrow and pick it up in VIC, so now I can kick back and relax whilst I'm munching on my yabbies!

Kate,
Camper looks and sounds good and priced reasonably but, hate to rain on anyones parade, is it the windup cable operated variety?
If it is manual it is almost impossible to erect it solo, I had one for years found it great but on the rare occasion that I had to erect it solo found it a real challenge, can be done but if you can manage it as a little grey haired granny (your own words O.K.) I reckon with your trucking background you must be able to pick up an empty 205litre drum in one hand without a tennis court grunt.
Check for water damage to end bed boards and ensure floor is sound (floors often tempered masonite) aging makes them droop between floor bearers and if subjected to water damage will break through under foot.
Check plastic window panels for cracks (tend to harden with age, become brittle), also zippers and flyscreens.
These units are timber framed / aluminium clad....much of the interior panels are of plastic veneered plywood, in the better models (early Sunwagon) these are secured with screws and glue, the later and other makes are stapled only.
After some work, especially over uneven ground, the frame racks about and all the cupboards and interior fittings which help to make it rigid start to loosen up and you will spend some time periodically sticking things back together.
Still a good outfit but a bit fragile too, if you are subjected to fairly stiff winds I suggest you put out guy ropes to the top of each roof support and peg it down.
Check it out carefully, or better still get someone who knows a bit about these to look it over for you before you shellout the money.....better to get abused by a ticked off vendor than find out later you are unable to use it without an offsider along.....or worse end up with big bills for repairs.
Cheers Cranky
P.S. Removing/refitting the "canvas" section for repairs is a real horror job, once removed it seems to shrink and trying to get it back in the same place is real challenge.
PP.S. Just revisited the Ebay site...picture shows it to be "Manual" take a mate orstock up on spinach
