Hi all there's a lot of conflict of interest
Going on at the moment
About what is the best choice of detector for the new
Up and rising members
Who are not sure what to buy

I thought it maybe a good idea to help
By getting the ball rolling on facts
And they can then make up there mind
With those facts

This is my tally not much
Gpx 4500 - 45 grams this year
Bout 80 hrs on the ground

Whites gmt - 2.6 grams
Bout 20 hrs

Sd 2000 - 1.2 grams
Bout 2 hrs

All nsw gold fields and not a great deal of time put in
This year so far
Oh and about 20 kg of bullets and rubbish

Hope this helps
You'll see that most of my time is used with the 45
As I like to use my time wisely

Hi All
IBG, good Idea.

SD2200d bought in 2009 - $2300
Finds- 11 nuggets includes 1 x 6oz, I don't get out much.
As you can see the unit has paid for itself, I only do 1 or 3 trips a year & travel 5.5 hours one way, so I want a unit that will find gold if I swing over it, which this unit will.
Over a four day trip I swing for 8hrs a day.
I also use a gold pan one of the most underated bits of kit, it has paid for itself to LOL
I have a Fischer Gold Bug Pro 3hrs on the field, no gold, a handful of Coins.
I started with a Gold Snoop Pro, 2 pre-decimal coins in the goldfield, a "Waste" of time for gold.
