witch is best the new or the old sd 2200 series

hi all just wondering witch is the best the old sd 2200 or the new sd 2200 i have an xterra 705 and are looking to buy a sd 2200 so if anyone can help that would be great thanks steve

If your talking serial numbers,the later serial numbers the better(6500 onwards).

Your question is just a tad confussing. What exists are the green box SD2200d and the blue box 2200V2. Both machines are 2200s and very similar in options, but alot of people (me being one) say that the green boxed SD2200d is of the original technology and I feel, although I can't verify, a deeper searching machine. Of these green boxes though, the serial numbers started at 45000 and ended at 69999 (I think). What is presumed by alot of users of these machines is that the 45XXX serial numbered machines and the 69XXX serial numbered machines are the best. This is just theory though and in reality there's probably good and bad or rather good and slightly less good machines in all the serial numbers ranges. I would give preferance to one of the above mentioned serial numbers, but I would not pass up an opertunity to buy a good machine, no matter what the serial number. As far as the blue boxed 2200V2, they are good machines too, but generally more expensive due to their newer condition, but in my opinion, it's not the condition that I'm after but rather the performance.

i wish i had taken up this hobby a bit earlier in life you can not beat being out in the bush swining a coil steve

I took a 14 year break in between, just as the SDs first come in. If only I had continued, I recon I would've found 1000s of ozs by now. (It's nice to dream anyway).
