Hi, recently became fascinated with Gold prospecting - kids growing up now and looking for something to interest me in my spare time - GOLD prospection comes top of my list :-) read loads on forums ect and watch stacks of videos, but need some practical advice.
1. Basic starter kit
2. What kind of Sleuice? metal or fibreglass
3. Where to start i am in Nothern England UK

I will appreciate anyone taking the time to help me out, many thanks Gary

G'day Gary ... and welcome to the forum Very Happy

Not sure that I can help you much, seeing as I'm in South Australia affraid and I'm thinking that the majority of members here are in the Southern Hemisphere ie Australia, New Zealand. Although I have noticed several international members ... USA, Canada etc.

Check out the sections within the site ... I'm sure you will find one that is pretty much full of information about sluice-ing and the like.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi! & Welcome

G'day Gary,

1. The Garrett Deluxe pan kit is a good place to start, comes with all the little bits you need.
2. I personsally use a metal Keene sluice, but the cheaper angus mackirk fiberglass ones are very good too.
3. Head north, most of the uk goldfields are in northern wales and Scotland. But don't expect huge amounts.
