My daughters first nugget.
One of my favorite days detecting... Sun Jun 03, 2012
My 9 year old asked if she could tag along today, so we went for a drive after lunch and about after 20 "are we there yet" we finally arrived. I handed her the scoop we found a couple .22 slugs and she wasn't to bad on locating either. The next target sounded like a bullet casing, a screamer as she was eliminating dirt with the scoop I could see the nugget in there and didn't take her long to see it, she was so excited. Then all she wanted to do was show mum so I didn't detect much after that because I could see she was itching to get out of there.
It weighed in at 1.8g.

Re: My daughters first nugget.
Thanks Marty, she want's to hang it of her necklace.
She also did a project at school on gold discovery and took it in to show. When her teacher asked where did you find it she said "the location is secrete" .... Taught her well

Re:My daughters first nugget
Geez Ren, what a great find for your daughter. Beats the .01 and other small size ones which are the more common ones these days. Agree with others be a great one to wear as a piece of jewellry.

My daughters first nugget
Hi Ren,
If you decide to have the nugget made into a pendant, get a quote, if you think it's a bit expensive I will do it for free.
I had a small jewellery shop many years ago.....I still do a bit of work from time to time.
Cheers.

Re: My daughters first nugget.
Nice work!
It seems at times we pass through a life of trouble and strife,
Sometimes we pause to question the cause
Memorable moments made with our children, just as we made them with our Mothers and Fathers
These are the small things that bind us and remind us what we are really here for, a single nugget in her hand, but in her memories and yours you will hold much more than mere gold

Re: My daughters first nugget.
congratulation.Well done and such a memorable moments for both of you.
Nothing beats going detecting with kids and even if they don't detect spending a day with them is priceless.
I had a routine with my son. We us to get up give him a nice cushion to sleep until first McDonald. Then breakfast together. Then sleep again couple hours. Then next stop bakery. Then detecting(he was not much interested to detect but walk around.).
Then lunch in the bush. Sure on the way back stop for fish and chips and ice-cream.
And deal was all i find he gets half of value in cash when we come home.
He did find a nugget as well.It was so small but he was thrilled.
So great to be with your daughter when she got her first nugget. And nice one too.
It would be great reminder for her around the neck.
Bravo.
