Finding gold around pine creek

Hi guys l am new to this gold prospecing as drive between katherine and pinecreek nt l see these creek beds wash away by water in wet season could there be gold there.

Hey mate, I've tried getting info on places to legally detect around Pine Ck and apparently all of the land is pretty well tied up. However the friendly lass at the council chambers informed me that within 50m of the bed of any substantial creek is actually crown land. Anyway if you take a drive down the road to the old pub (can't remember it's name but it's well signposted) you should find plenty of likely areas.
