Hi

try here http://users.tpg.com.au/adslly6v/UtmGoogleStreetView.html , you use the x y co-ordinates. you will need your utm zone as well which you can find here http://www.herpnet.org/herpnet/gbif/World_UTM_Map.pdf

hope this helps.

cheers

It should be pretty easy.

37.40000E, 66.440000N there may a number missing from it though.

This one puts you somewhere near Murmansk! Is that where you want to be?

The coordinates come up as 66.440000N 37.40000E

cheers for the help guys,

i managed not to destroy anything with my tantrum Mad
i was trying to input the gps co ordinates from doug stones book....very frustrating,is it like secret code or something lol
the co ords i gave were suppose to be Gindalbie in West Aus.
i tried the utm setting also and that does not help.
its really daft the way the co ords are written in the book pretty much just like this 374000E 6644000N nothing else?very confusing and enraging bounce
anyway i am a Kalgoorlie local so i have plenty of time to just get out there and find it!
Thanks all Very Happy

Hi GoldLeaf,
Do what Piston Broke suggests.
Assuming your zone is 51J
In Google Earth click "Add place mark" little yellow pin in top tool bar.
A new place should appear on your view.
Right click on this place mark
click "Properties"
Clear the co-ordinates in the N & E box
In the E box type 374000
In the N box type 6644000
Click apply and you will see the new place mark moves to the applied co-ordinates.
Click Tools then options again
Select degrees, minutes & seconds
Click apply
Right click on your new place mark again
Click properties and you should see this.
30°19'45.38"S
121°41'21.48"E

These co-ords will bring you adjacent to Lindsay's Mine off the Yarri Road approx 50km's NE of Kal.

Cheers
Peter
