old railway lines

has any one ever detected along old or disused rail lines through gold mining areas I Know that in NZ a lot of rail way lines have been lifted up and have been turned into cycling and walking tracks what people do is to walk between the old towns book in over night //pubs or b@bs then start out again in the morning to the next town What people do is forward book in morning time to the next pub or town and get there backpacks delivered there It has been very succufull Try walking swinging a detector all day on nice level ground or on enbankments you would have a ball ////Think of that nice cool beer at the END ex kiwi123

I was very lucky enough to detect an old railway spike at about 3 foot depth.... boy was I pissed off...
