A Day Out With The Boys

Phoenix, Golden, Rowdy, Goldaddict, Madmax800, and myself teamed it up to go out and have a bit of a detect. So meeting at Coiltec today at around 10.30 and after a few coffee's and a chat we headed out to a spot that I've been looking at for a while just out side of Maryborough. The first two nuggets were found within a few minutes after arriving, and by lunch time 7 nuggets were found and by the end of the day there were 16 nuggets in total found. All ranging from about 0.01 to 0.7 gms. The machines being used 3 x 5000, 1 x 4500, 1 x 4000 & 1 Extreme. Tellies:- Phoenix 9 nuggets (5000), Goldaddict 2 nuggets (5000), Myself 2 nuugets (5000), Madmax 1 nugget (4500), Golden 2 nuggets (4000) but pore old Rowdy (Extreme) could not get on to any this time, Better luck next time mate. The weather was great and the company was even better. Thanks fellows for a great day. We must do it again soon.

P.S the total could have changed as Phoenix was still out there when I left for a total of 16 nuggets then.

it was good to meet some members i`ve not met before.
i ended up with 15 for 1.8 grams wombat
i got my 10th as you and golden were driving out. i then stayed till 9pm

pete , if you ever want to come over east for a visit i recon there would be a few blokes that would show you around , but i think you would get bored with the little bits

Never get bored, gold is gold, would prefer to dig 100 bits rather than one of equivalent weight.

Had a great time and it was fantastic to go out with others from the forum, I could only do a couple of hours on that day but went back again and did a couple more as well as catching up with another face from the forum which was wonderful.
I ended up with about 10 bits for a total of approx 1.35g.
Amazing how small the 5000 will find especially with the 8' coil. Another new experience for me.

Hi boys. Great work. Don't worry Rowdy, I know what it is like to be the only one to go home with nothing but bullets, tin etc. However i always have the desire to try again real soon. Good company on a day out like that is an added bonus.

Really nice and friendly bunch of prostecters. Some with vast knowledge, others newbies but all nice folk.

It was really great to come all the way from Adelaide to meet you guys and look forward to swinging the coil again soon.

I only goy 1 bit (its inthe acid now ) but scorred a 3.45 grammer the next day when oiut with GoldstalkerGPX.

Hey presto,
I don't feel so bad now as I snuck out to the spot on Friday arvo and picked up a 0.18 consolation bit. I'm sure you have to be mad to detect in this heat and the mozzies out there were unbelieveable.

Hi Rowdy. Well done on the find. I remember being chased home from shooting one afternoon as the Mozzies were so big and hungry they were biting me through my flannelette shirt! I think the heat is going to get worse before it cools, although it is summer, at last.

Wombat, just like to say thanks for being so generous in sharing a spot which you did all the research on. I'm sure I speak for all the others too and hopefully the guys will give you a bit of space and leave a few nuggets for your good self which you richly deserve. It's not easy finding patches mate so enjoy your beautiful spot.......
