Detecting at Stuart Town Empty Good day in Stuart Town

Post  x-terra Mon Oct 03, 2011 7:48 pm

I wandered to Stuart Town today with my x-terra 705 hoping it could teach me a few things. Wow there is some junk there. came home with a backpack full of rubbish, some shells, a musket ball, .22 cal slug and to my amazment what appears to be .177 cal slug at 4 inches deep. No gold but a lovely day. And used the coin and treasure mode to discriminate what I thought was all ferrous junk. cheers Tim

Yeah stick to the trashy area's. The minelab boys usually keep well clear of them and the gold is still there.
You will be able to pick all the good bits out from amongst it.

G'day x-terra

If you mean up behind the tip (opposite side of the road to the common) had a bit of a go with a GPextreme a fair few years ago, only got bullets and nails etc no gold. But there are old diggings and workings etc up there so you never know. Smile

cheers dave

Gday x terra,
That ground across the road from the common looks the goods, but as Dave said, plenty of bullets and no gold Sad
I have detected a few small patches in the common, with my biggest piece only just over 2 grammes. Another mate found a small run of nuggets on some shallow surfacing below a reef, but the patch seemed to end as soon as it began.
Good luck and keep digging that trash, the good stuff will turn up sooner than later. Cool
