Bungy cord Empty Bungy cord

Post  goldsal Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:32 am

Hi everyone, Still very new at this - have a GPX 5000 and now have a hipstick which is making things more comfortable. My question relates to the bungy cord supplied with the 5000. I've carefully followed the manual for correct way to attach it, but it is driving me mad by constantly slipping. How do you stop the plastic plate on it from slipping down the cord? I'm sure there's an obvious answer and I just haven't worked it out yet!

Hi again goldsal !
I have had the same issue with the standard bunge cord . I found I had to tie a knot in the cord below the "slip preventer " to stop it creeping.
Once the best length is found and the knot tied, minor adjustments can be made at the bottom by sliding the shaft clamp up and down .
I am useing a heavier duty aftermarket one now and the adjuster stays put on it.
Maybe others have a better solution .

Just had the same issue, got a few large rubber o-rings to stop the wear at the attachment point on the detector then slid the plastic strip down to the end of the bungie and pushed it through the top near the clip.

we use this aftermarket bungee. it is fast to change length and a must when using larger coils in steep country .
