hi. i have detected the area for a day,had no luck. there is a lot of grass/thick forrest and deep shafts around so look out if you go there.
the place i went was just off to the left on the hampton to esk road. also have heard stories about old timmers finding
nuggety gold off or around the range near highfields.other places that have recorded nuggets in the area cooya,nanango and around blackbutt.

Sorry to Necro an old thread. I'm interested in finding some old mine shafts around Toowoomba. Where's the best place to look? I know that there's some in the Ravensbourne forest (location unknown) but I have also heard rumours of shafts along the Toowoomba escarpment around Ballard.
