Currowan / Brooman state forest's

First time here but i'm looking around these forest areas, i'm only planning on a cheap detector from ebay, a pan & i'm thinking of building a sluice just to see what happens, i've found a few old mines on Google Earth & Bonzle but any help or ideas would be great, Thanks. I have plenty of time but not the $....!

if you want a cheap detector, i saw there was a Garrett Infinium LS for $1000.

that may be your best bet without going to the expense of a Minelab.

yeah, i know and thats fair enough. i only offered that as from the research i did it would be the best without going to a minelab which even teh cheaper SD models go for over $1k.

i'm no expert by any means, but like all things, if your buying something for a specific need. in this case to find gold, then you should spend as much as you can afford. don't go 1/2 assed or you are just throwing your money away and your going to find it hard to locate anything.
