TDI At the Beach and Elsewhwere
Ran a few conductivity setting tests for my TDI OZ... Interesting results.
Test targets were Aussie decimal and some pre decimal coins plus an 18k 5g gold ring, 14k 2g gold ring , 9k 3g gold ring, a silver (925) 4g ring and a steel bottle cap.. a copper penny, 2 shilling, 1 shilling, 6 p, 50c sil round.
TDI set for a smooth threshold at the gain required to achieve the smooth threshold. Delay at 15usec.
1. GB ON, Con at All.....All items responded well although the 50 c round was slightly weak.
2. GB OFF Con, ..All .....All items responded well.
3. GB ON, Con High,.... 1 & 2 dollar coin responded but slightly weak. All other items gave no response.
4. GB ON, Con Low,..... No response from 1 & 2 dollar coin and sil ring and the pre decimal coins. All other items responded well.
5. GB OFF Con, High.....No response to any of the items.
6. GB OFF Con Low,....All targets responded well.
So it appears that the best modes to use with the TDI OZ for coins jewellery and relics are:
GB ON, Conductivity All. Will find everything.
GB OFF, Conductivity All, Will find everything.
GB ON, Conductivity Low. You will not find 1 & 2 dollar coins or a lot of 925 rings.
GB OFF, conductivity Low, Will find everything.
Worst modes:
GB ON Conductivity High.....If you don't want to find anything at all.
GB OFF Conductivity High. Ditto.
I will put up the steel bottle cap results later.
A bit later:
Steel Bottle caps are totally rejected along with almost everything else,
With.
A....GB ON, Conductivity HIGH.
B....GB OFF, Conductivity HIGH
Be interesting to hear if other TDI OZ operators get similar results.
