WA boarders are closed until next year. Blimey yez blokes have lost the plot completely.
Talk about cutting your own throats! Christmas trade is screwed. Good luck to your small businesses.
Australia is a big place so who needs WA ?
What have you got over there that the rest of Australia does not have......Lets see, hmmmmm A bit of gold, an iron mine, a dead in the water  diamond mine.
A place to look at some dolphins....Yeah that's about it,... OH yeah,  Some lost prospectors

WA might as well sell out to the Chinese...At least they are industrious..

Yeah I toss one in now and again.
I do not necessarily believe in what I say but it is just to stir the pot a bit and to find out what the Sand gropers think of the continued boarder lock downs.
They may not like Southerners much but lets face it, without us there would be no need for Perth.

Current deaths from co-vid in Australia are 993 in Victoria, 540 in NSW and 11 in the ACT. Both Vic and NSW seem intent on upping those numbers with reductions in co-vid restrictions.

With just 9 co-vid deaths in WA, I think I know who has lost the plot!

By the way, the last couple of seasons on our goldfields have been very pleasant without the hordes of the “othersiders”!

Yeah I am just stirring the pot, I am getting a bit bored over here and am a bit envious of the Westerners and wish I was out in your gold fields.
Something to remember is that there is only one city in WA, the rest are just some bush tucker towns and with a total population of 2.6 million well heck there is nobody there to catch covid , you all live so far apart there is no need to wear masks aye?
Anyway petrol prices are so high these days that nobody can afford to go to WA.

Living in SA is great but there is very little gold here. My nearest goldfield in SA is 450km away and not very productive. We have missed out on two seasons prospecting now. Couldn't get to the west nor Vic, or we could get there, just couldn't get back. We made do with a couple of weeks in Tibooburra by dodging border closures but a couple of weeks there is not as good as 4 months in the west. We are extremely envious of those being able to get out in WA and find a patch or two, or even those who live in VIC and can get out. Now the borders are opening soon, but not WA we could get to Vic but it is too flamin' hot during the summer. We are having sever withdrawal symptons from not being able to dig a bit of gold. We have had to pull out some gold and look at just to remember what it looks like

Gotta love WA, have just returned from detecting in the Pilbara region, no borders and better still no people.
On a more serious note I'm sure that a lot of people in the East who have suffered the deaths  of loved ones would rather be in WA.

It's an amazing drive from the east to the west though Granite.
I tell people who are bored and don't know what to do in life, is to just get in the car a take a drive to Kalgoorlie.
Forget about the great ocean road, do the Nullarbor, take your time and just suck the immenseness of it all

More deep, you are right. We love crossing the Nullarbor. It is always different. We have crossed it about 21 times and are never bored. So much to see and lots of Wildlife,. Camels, dingos, Roos and heaps of Birdlife. But you have to stop now and then and take a walk off the road and breathe the air and smell it too. But if WA isn't going to open its borders until it gets to 90percent fully vaccinated then we won't get there next year either as no country has been able to achieve that number.

With a population of just 2.66 million and 2.0 mill of those are in Perth = 75%. The rest are a bit scattered and may be not so keen to be vaccinated.  Yeah maybe 90% is wishful thinking for WA.

The best thing about the West is space and lack of people (except Perth).
Don't know how you easterners can live on top of each other like you do.
Guess it's because you are used to it.
No wonder the virus loves it over there.

Like you, Allan I have no idea how people can live with millions of other crammed into a small space. The traffic and pollution would send me nuts. We live in a small provincial city or 25000 and that is often too many for us. That's why we spend about 5 months a year away out in the bush. It used to be 5 months in WA prospecting but covid and age has prevented that. Now we just go bush. We spent 4 monts this year touring outback and country Qld and visiting family. Only one lives in a city, Brisbane, the rest live out of towns in the country with one living in Adelaide.
The best view of any city is in the rear view mirror.

I still love the fact that in parts of WA and oz ,one can stand on a rock/place that no white person has stood or in fact anyone.
Get out there as soon as you can and find that rock

I found that rock. It's 59km north of Mount Eureka below a sandhill and covered with spinifex.

sounds nice Granite, we do live in a magical place.
Another favourite place to experience is the Murray river, camping and waking up on the murray and having a stubby for breakfast
What more could one want from life
