 Metal Detectors Empty Metal Detectors

I've never used a metal detector before but I want to get one now...My daddy always said "If you don't know something, ask the experts" Experience also fits in there....So...I have about $2500.00 that I'm willing to throw at a new detector...Which is the best I can get for that paltry amount? bounce

Welcome to the forum Denadii, if your going gold then a pulse induction [ PI ] detector is the way to go.
You maybe, just maybe; be very lucky to pick up a GPX 4500 for that amount.
If you're thinking of relic detecting with the off chance of pinging little bits of gold then there a numerous types of VLF machines on the market.
good luck with it all.

Yeah that GPX 4500 is about a thousand bucks past my present budget. One does not want to spend too much on his first plunge.

I gather your $2500 is in US $ so you should be able to pick up a good 2nd hand Minelab GPX4500 even if you buy it from Australia and get it sent over.

Cheers

Hi Denadii
The postal service at the moment is absolutely shot. You will get the deliveries eventually if you purchase here but expect big delays. You can't go past a good 4500 if your looking for gold.
