Re: Weekend tiddlers
thanks gemQ.
By the way Goldgasm I didn't answer your previous question,DD coil? ,I've not used one near power lines, whats the advantage? little 8 "mono going well under them.
Sold my large collection of SEVERAL DD coils when I got the 5000,thought they were worthless/useless

Re: Weekend tiddlers
yeah well good point they are pretty useless, it takes a pretty special area that has been rich enough of a goldfield in the past to warrant using one, using a dd closer to powerlines can be less fatiguing thats the main advantage. also goes into pseudo monoloop in ground councel setting because of the winding configuration but i no what your saying i'm inclined to use monos as close to powerlines as possible as well

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Little 8" can be used right under small power lines, crank down rx and run audio in quiet,I don't think any thing would cope with the high voltage monster lines.

Gold is always nice to find, but an old cork top bottle (regardless of size/type) in good nick, is truly a bonus find there moredeep. Well done.

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Went to an old favourite area thats been flogged to death, the two larger ones were picked up amongst some crazy hot rock.
The hot rock was full of iron, and if you could zoom in on it you could see a small quartz crystal in the middle of the hot rock plus lots of sparkly things in it as well
I think the recent rains have quietened the crazy hot ground a little making it a little easier to differentiate the real metallic targets?

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Another beautiful day in central vic,5 tiddlers for the weekend.
Drove through town for a gander; ice cream shop full of tourists licking their little hearts out.
Decided to venture to the historic soon to be UNESCO world heritage site GARFIELD WHEEL area today to check out the hundreds of tourist frolicking in the sun and the bush.
Guess what not a sole in sight, detected for 3 hours not one car went past ,drove back past the ice creamery and it was full of tourists soaking up the beautiful soon to be world heritage GOLDFIELDS!!!!
What a freaking joke. hope ye all had a good one

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Went further afield today around moliagul area.
Come across a soft drink can and gave it the usual air test with the evo coil, yep a good five foot, coils working ok.
I kicked the can away and kept detecting.
30cm away got a screaming target which I thought was junk,I lifted the coil 30/40 cm off the ground and the target disappeared some what.
mmm I thought if it was junk it should be still screaming but it didn't ,might be a bit deeper.A few minutes later OMG a BIG tiddler:lol:

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Good work moredeep!
Your perseverance is pretty good. Nice to see a bit of gold come from what could have been "just" a hot rock.
