Re: Off Topic Clive Palmer
Take it easy Ivan, calm down, we hear ya. Lets try to keep religion to a minimum here, for most politicians are far from righteousness. One of the major prerequisites of a politician gaining employment, is to have no shame.
Fortunate or unfortunate life is what it is. It is only through the unity of the majority of working class people, that real change can take place. This is why politicians do their best to keep the population divided. As was once said, "there is much food in the fallow ground of the poor, but it is swept away through lack of justice".
Kon.

Actually Ivan is pretty spot on. The dogs of capitalism are now off the leash. A most unChristian Christian will make life even more miserable for the poor and unfortunate.

Re: Off Topic Clive Palmer
Bloomin heck can we not have replies that can't get past hate and the devil and religion.
It was a democratic vote. The people got what they voted for. There is always a winner and a loser but the losers are always happy to accept whatever benefits the elected Gov hands them.
I voted for the party that I figured would have the least effect on my bank account...and that wasn't easy coz it is difficult to figure who will have the least effect on zero.
I watched "Wolf Creek Two" last night. Now there's a bloke who knows how ta get rid of irritations.

Re: Off Topic Clive Palmer
The Poles clearly indicated that the vast majority of Australians wanted Scomo as PM and that is what they voted to achieve.
Bill S shot himself in the foot with a few scary statements.... Meant well but had no logical way of achieving the outcomes he wanted.
As for the banks; Without banks there is no ships, boats, planes, trains cities towns, roads farms, food, jobs. We would all be in the dirt eating spiders and cockroaches and snakes.
There would be no metal detector industry there would be sweet fa. Luv em or hate em, banks and financial institutions are a necessary part of our society.
I spose we could all live in tents or under a lean-To in the bush, go back to nature and crap and pee wherever and whenever we liked but 24 million tents and crap everywhere is going to be a tad on the nose.
I finally got my house after 53 years of planning and working but I still had to get the money from somewhere and that was from a bank and I would not have been able to pay it off after retirement if not for a financial institution super fund...Now I have a total life savings of 6 grand to my name after 73 years....Well at least I own my home and you would be amazed at how far I can stretch 6 grand.

What?
So what did i say Adrian?, just pointing out that hypocrisy of Morrison, at least Reg is intelligent enough to understand that. And Palmer is the scum of the earth, anyone who voted for him should hang there head in shame. He spent 60 million on ads while the people who were owed money from his failed nickel factory where divorcing, topping themselves and so on, he just basically destroyed there lives, absolute scum of the earth, and what kind of laws are there in this country, i thought there are laws in relation to workers entitlements and such, why was`nt he forced to pay them out, he has the funds?, well being a billionaire probably a little under the table bribery went on in this case.
I`ve said everything i want to say on this so i`m 'over and out'!!!

It seems a few folks on here are a bit upset at the election out come but I have to say no matter who you barracked we have never been so well off and this is still the best bloody country in the world. Settle down and count your blessings socialism has been stalled for another 3 years. Fire up your detector and get out there in the bush where nothing matters but the next nugget.

Re: Off Topic Clive Palmer
Have to agree with you there Granite2
Well Clive's 60 mill went somewhere into the Gov coffers and to advertisers, video makers & associated workers pay packets etc and I have no doubt it can be used as a tax write off of some kind.
My understanding is that Clive set up a trust fund of millions of dollars and those who are owed money from the failed Nickel mine can apply for their money through the fund controllers. That gets it out of his hair letting him get on with business. I agree his methods are a bit on the nose.
Now there are 6 Greens in the senate. I wonder which would be worse for the mining industry The greens or the United Australia party.....I guess we will soon find out aye coz Clive dipped out.
I notice that a lot of the Mining sector that normally voted Labour changed to Liberal. I reckon they could see the writing on the wall if Bill became PM.

Re: Off Topic Clive Palmer
Clive Palmer is another " Trump " I have no respect for him and what he did to his nickle workers . Easy to say it was some body else's fault . Made sure that he did not have to pay the entitlements .
The workers have had to wait a long time . Have they got paid yet ???
The mine had closed a long time ago , but the treatment plant was still running , they were importing ore to be treated.
BTW Slim Dusty made a good song about the mine that I still listen to from time to time .
