Is it just me or does everyone seem to be flogging the 4800 lately? I don't recall seeing much about it until recently except that it was  "more suited to the overseas market" , does minelab have a warehouse full of these bad boys that didn't sell in Africa or other places as well as expected. Wink

Hi Digginerup,

I think you would find that there is a market for the 4800 particularly for people searching for a 4500. It is still a GPX model and sits between the 4500 and the 5000. Initially the GPX 4800 was selling RRP as $6150 so people jumped to the 5000 because the price difference was minimal.

A second hand GPX 4500 is still pulling around $4500 so going to a GPX 4800 for $450 more and getting a three year warranty might be tempting for some people. The reason it is popping up everywhere is because of the price.

Remembering that I am no longer a Minelab Dealer but I do think this is a good buy.

Thanks Kim,  Smile  I see what your saying, I could never understand why anyone would buy a 4800 over a 5000 seeing as the price difference was so minimal, now there's definately an incentive at this price, Merry Xmas and a Happy New year to you and yours.

Wayne. cheers
