UnderFlow Sluice Box
Does anybody use the UnderFlow Sluice Box from grumpyprospector.com? I bought the highbanker model a while ago and have been using it at home as well as in the field and can't say enough good things about it. I'm getting a lot more fine flour and micron Gold that I used to miss from my digging spots. The only thing that has changed is the use of the UnderFlow. Water pressure is the key as well as proper classification if you want the fines and micron stuff. I used to use a traditional sluice box set up and put the UnderFlow at the end of my old Keene. I was blown away at what the UnderFlow caught and what I used to blow back into the creek. I don't even want to think about how much gold I paved my drive way with filling holes from my garage set up. Getting rid of most of my other equipment as I can't see keeping it around when I'm never going to use it again.......sluice boxes, blue bowl, spiral wheel. All going away. I'm hoping somebody is using their new Ultimate River Sluice so I can get some feedback. I want to purchase one and hope somebody can chime in about what size to get and how it works in the creek. Thanks.

Re: UnderFlow Sluice Box
A confusing looking device but anything extra in the flow for pickup is great let alone such an ingenious contraption

Re: UnderFlow Sluice Box
Whiskers wrote:Thanks mate yep it works very well indeed. The original design did not have the underflow shoot only the drop box which was intended as a greased drop box table. Fitted with a greased felt wheel in much the same manner which was used on the Cox’s Dredge Eldorado. But it was very hard to find a formula or mixture of grease that would hold a carbonate diamond in cold water. Then I stumbled upon the underflow idea which as stated works very well more so for what I wanted. Hence the shoot was made, as the photo shows the water action within the unit.
