what is better, the reeds lucky lark or the coiltek regulated system???

Hi, I don't know which is best , I bought a Reeds Lucky Lark to use on my GP Extreme and are now using it on my Gps 4000 still with the original battery so I guess that it is a good bit of gear.

The Reed Lucky Lark in my opinion. Light, compact, durable and in my case long lived. As bushranger stated it can be used on SD, GP and GPX. I use mine as a backup for my 4000.

Hi Stuart,
Was using a Reeds Lucky Lark regulated to 7.3V for my SD2100, moved up to the 4000, a simple adjustment regulated to 8.0V, now I have it set to 8.3V for a backup battery for the 4500.
Can't speak about the Coiltek model however if it can't be regulated to different voltages maybe the Lucky Lark is the way to go?

I have both Reed's batteries (lucky lark and little beauty) no problems at all. Another option would be to look at Ismael Jones..... Minelabmods.... at his Wireless Battery Update

I have the coiltek system to suit a 4500. They have a switchable voltage model for earlier detectors.

The unit weighs nothing. Each battery lasts about 3 1/2 hours, but carrying a spare battery is easy.

What i like about it is that you can purchase spare batteries for $40.

You need to fit an amplifier if you want to run a speaker with the system on a 4500.

The Jaycar 'champ" amp kit ($7 Product code KC5152) does a good job and can be built in minutes.
