Gold Nugget Find - Aprox 14.4 oz

Hi All,

Just wanted to share this great find!!!

We’ve just had a customer drop in to sell a small amount of his finds, whilst in the BendigoGold store he also pulled out a magnificent looking gold nugget weighing 447 grams or approximately 14.4oz with an approximate value of $22,500.

This beautiful nugget was found in Victoria on the slope of a hill about a foot and a half down, found with a Minelab GPX 4500 Metal Detector and a Minelab 18” Commander Mono Coil. It was just the second time he had used this coil and has only been detecting for about 12 months.
A great find!!

What a CRACKER!. Now that is exciting. It just proves that every man's dream nugget is still out there.

I reckon a 8" mono would see that monster at only 18".... ya just have to walk over it thats the trick !!

What a find - That Vic gold looks soooooo sweet...

Mate that is a very nice bit of gold and a dream for most of us. But that dream can become reality by the next step swinging your detector.

what a great looking nugget, any multi-ounze piece is going to look great I guess, this one is even sweeter for the finder given he has only just started in the past 12 months... there you go, you just have to walk over it first and only then will any research/swing/pace/settings/etc do the rest - thanks for sharing golddiggerdave

Glad your enjoying this as much as the finder.

Just goes to show you, there are many more quite the same out there just waiting for some "dedicated detectorist" to walk over. At times we get a little despondent when our searching comes up empty....you've got to "Believe" they are there.....it does make a difference to your enthusiasm.
