before and after
i got this piece last month and when i found it , it sounded to me like maybe there was a gram of gold in it , but no gold was visible. i`ve had it in the acid and this is what i ended up with plus a fair bit of flake gold. before acid the mudstone weighed 3.8 grams these 2 bits weigh 1.2 grams

Re: before and after
Hi phoenix,
this is extraordinaire stuff, there must be a lot of inconspicious looking
species out there that wait for their acid bath.
Interesting that they were trapped as 2 nuggets, although looking as it was once one nugget that by forces has broken apart
and then being encased in quartz.
Nice story and great photos (one for the gold reference book)
thanks for sharing
