Hi Guys,
Sorry to bother you again with my silly questions, I would like to know if the Nugget Finder, 8"x 6" coil is an Advantage coil or just another normal elliptical coil.
Cheers

Gday

I originally thought that it was an advantage coil but according to this writeup its not, maybe like as it says its not waterproof so maybe its not a potted coil internally either?, and also it only comes with a 1 year warranty instead of the three years.

I think you will find that the later model 8x6 is an advantage, where the first released ones were not.

Gday koeh

I have now seen that as well the early ones were not advantage coils as they stated as such in the attachment I put up before, but in later advertising I see that they now call them advantage coils so as you say maybe they have now improved them, I havent seen a more recent one so do they now carry the advantage sticker on them too?

Probably the only difference in the two was that perhaps the earlier one didnt have potted windings or waterproofing around the lead area, that could be an issue if you purchased one to use in say creeks and it wasnt the later version it wouldnt last too long, cant find any reference to the change in them either, as nugget finder dont have a website either that makes it hard to find out anything unless you ask a dealer.

Hi guys, today I received this email from Nuggett Finder, I hope this clarifies any doubt about this great coil:

Hi Giancarlo

A standard feature of all Advantage coils is the Polycarbonate Shaft Mount and O-Ring sealed cable. Until around 3 weeks ago the 8x 6 did not have these features and therefore was not included in the Advantage range of coils.

The Polycarbonate Shaft Mount is now a standard feature on all 8 x 6 coils.

Therefore the (Advantage) 8 x 6 is now covered by the full 2 Year Warranty (3 Years if the warranty form is returned)

I hope this helps and please feel free to copy this onto the forum if you wish.

Regards

Rohan
