A bit of Laverton Luck
The weather man said a sunny 26 degrees, so what perfect weather for my first swing since arriving back in Laverton after my Christmas break, actually my first detect for 2012.
In the first hour I managed to snag 4 little tadpoles for about 2 grams on some old scraping and then decided to go for a bit of a prospect for an hour or so.
About 20 minutes into my walk I got a beautiful and clear inverted signal with the NFA 14". Too good, had to be rubbish I thought. Inch after inch and it was still in the hole so at about 6 inches I got serious with the pick. At about 10 inches it was well and truly overloading yet still not signalling when switched into cancel.
At about 14 inches and at bedrock out pops a nice 60gr+ chunk! There is still a slight signal in the hole which I filled back in to tackle another day with my big pick and a smaller coil.
61.23gr birthweight, should be atleast 55gr cleaned.
Cheers,
Steve
