Copper colour? Empty Copper colour?

I've recently bought a small sluice and pan and havn't really had much experience doin it. I've found some flakes that are defiantly gold but i've also found some that are a copper colour. These copper lookin ones are heavier than the other sands and sit with the gold in the pan. I was just wondering what these are?

Na I havn't heard of any copper at all in the region. It's to small to take photos of, just bigger than grains of sand.

Yep I think Maka may be right without seeing what you have it is hard to say. But if your gold is bright the contaminate is usually silver, but if your gold is dull the contaminate is usually copper. What you are describing may be copper with a low gold content.
