Amplifier help please

Hi guys and gals. I have just had a swing with my extreme after ditching the old battery and going for the camcorder battery with 6.5mm jack wired into it.
My prob is with background noise even with head phones its very hard to hear.
Is there and amp i can plug inline or a speaker with an amp in it?

Sorry , I dont have background noise in the speaker. Its just general background noise, from walking on dry leaves, cars passing by, birds etc, general ambient noises make it hard to hear. Thats why i am chasing an amplifier.

Just picked up a Treasure Mate ll from vktek solutions. Absolute ripper little speaker/amp. Has the jack port to also run your headphones. Gef50 makes and sells them who is on the forum.

Treasure Mate 2 top unit crystal clear sound, you can buy em of ebay also.

I only used the coiltek mini booster on my extreme, its an inline booster using the detector battery for power, so theres no worries about flat batteries, theres one on ebay at the moment at around $98 "buy it now" and I think that they are about $120-140 new.

The description says for sd detectors but they will also do the gp extreme,3000,3500, all have the same plug type.

They are compact and trouble free and can be mounted on the side of the detector
