Hi All,

I am a newbie to prospecting and metal detecting and so I've been doing googling, searching etc for info to help me.

I've seen that some of resources at DMP have been posted before but thought I would repost a list with current links of some useful info I have found.

DMP's website:
http://www.dmp.wa.gov.au/

Here is the main page listing the DMP's on-line systems:

Tengraph: You apply to DMP and they issue you with a userid and password to access their Tenement Graphical system. They send instructions etc on how to install the plugin and get it running. This overlays maps with all the tenements. You are able to zoom in and query a tenement to find who the holder is and type of license.

GeoView.WA: similar in some ways to Tengraph. No login or plugin required. A graphical mapping system where you can overlay geology, tenements, deposits, mines etc. A great resource I can access from work Smile
Also allows you to query whose tenement it is.

Geoscience Maps and Reports: These go way back as well. You can query and download PDF's of all sorts of geology and mining reports produced by the department. Covering specific areas or whole regions. Some contain historical records of amount mined, gold produced etc, old deposits and mines, great reading.

Minedex: A database of mines, mineral deposits and prospects that you can query. There are also several data extracts you can download if you click on "Data Extracts". One is a dump of Minedex, the other is an "Inventory of Abandoned Mine Sites". I load these into a spreadsheet. They include the latitude/longitude which I use to list deposits in a particular area of interest

Wamex: Haven't played with this yet but is a database of annual exploration reports submitted by companies as part of their reporting requirements.

Best thing to do is just hunt around and enjoy!
