Re: SPL (Special Prospecting Lease)
Hi Kudu,
Don't believe you can, feel sure there would be an answer under FAQ on the Mines Department site.
Cheers

Re: SPL (Special Prospecting Lease)
Thanks for the reply guys.
An info pamphlet from WA mines dept read:
"A special prospecting licence is for gold only and has a maximum size of 10 hectares and may be applied for within
existing prospecting licences, exploration licences or mining leases (referred to as “primary tenements”).
It is to enable the small prospector to access alluvial gold deposits, provided the activities don’t interfere with the
co-existing “primary tenement”."
I am interested in applying for a SPL over a current prospecting license. I understand the current holders is an exploration company and hopefully my activities won't interfere with theirs. A bit complicated, as I think they (the currant holders)also have a agreement for the alluvial rights with somebody else.
Nevertheless, if I interpret the above imformation correctly, I am allowed to apply for a SPL over a current live prospecting license. I will try and do that and see what happens.

Will keep you posted.
