people keep telling me use a 14 inch mono or dd coil on sd2100, so got one last weekend for my modified sd. see how it goes this weekend around southern cross to parker range area, trying coolgardie kal soon as well.

Re: best coil Kalgoorlie way
Hi Big chop
I have used an Extream around Kal and found that in some areas a 16" mono works ok , particularly with the soil switch in " Sensitive "
Other places with high Laterite and weathered altramafics will be noisy so I would take a DD as well , at least the standard 11" DD . This can be run with the RX switch in "E" (or M on the later GP's ) for more sensitivity on the small bits . You will dig more ground noises and hot rocks than with a GPX , but these are still very capeable machines .

Re: best coil Kalgoorlie way
For mineralised ground on the GPs, I had great success with the 15x12 dd commander when I had my 3500

Re: best coil Kalgoorlie way
Gday big chop
A coil that I found very good in heavily mineralised ground with the gp extreme and then the 3500 was the coiltek 14" round dd pro coil, in some areas an 11" or 14" " mono either round or eliptical will be ok.
cheers
