GPX4500 - Training Course's
Hi! All This my first post, hope you all can help. I have recently purchased a 4500 (in the late seventies and eighties I was quite successful with using a garrett and compass machines). My question is I intend to go to WA this year, and thought I may take up a course one day or four day advertised on E Bay, has any member done these courses? And would it be money well spent? regards. Paul

Hi GF and welcome to the forum.
If you bought your 4500 new, you'll be entitled to a free 1 day course through the Minelab Adventure club.
Although the 4500 is a way different beast than your previous detectors, you'd be most likely familliar with the fundementals of detecting so the course and practice, practice practice may well be all you need.
Good luck!

Or you get your self a copy of our "SETA project" DVD 2 disc set (over 3 1/2 hours of info on the 4500) and get yourself up to speed on the ins and outs of the detector in the comfort of your living room before you head off out bush.

To be honest I am burnt out at the moment, being a one man band the videos take a huge amount of work to produce, while that process is in place everything else takes a back seat, wife, kids, life, gold, everything. But what I will tell you is I have some fantastic footage of the Kimberley's and other areas of WA which will one day make very good viewing, just a matter of finding the time to collate it all.

4500 course's
Paul,
Do your Minelab free day, JP"s video will also help.
If you are looking for professional training on the in's and out's of your new 4500 you couldn't go past a mob in Bendigo called Gold Prospecting Australia, there were some other comments about them on this forum a couple of days ago, all positive, and my experience with them far exceeded my expectations. they run local one and two day training days as well as longer trips to WA and NSW. You should check out their web site. from what was said in the other post their tours are often booked out.
Hope this helps,
Tom
