Your compass may soon be useless
You may have heard that the Earths Poles are moving and quite rapidly. More the North Pole than the South. I have included 2 links that provide good info.
What I was surprised to see was the South Magnetic Pole is nowhere near the geographic South Pole, in fact, it is heading well towards Australia.
Also, it is not changing as fast as the North Magnetic Pole which is causing a problem in that some airports have had to be closed due to the shift!

I wonder if they are teaching the Boy Scouts about this one? lol

Re: Your compass may soon be useless
The poles will eventually shift to the point where they will flip. History suggests that this process is now overdue although evidence suggests that the polar shift may be a long, drawn out affair. When the poles do shift, there will an unmitigated catastrophe on a scale never previously seen by modern man. If it happens in my lifetime, I will count myself fortunate to witness the unfolding of such an event. It will be brutal and it will be terrible ....but I find that I tend to get a kick out of such anarchy.

Re: Your compass may soon be useless
I just read up on the Mayan calendar as I have heard much gossip and rumour about this - even one to say they stopped their calendar in 2012 just because they run out of wall to write on. (not true).

Found this interesting website that explains a lot about it. It does draw a lot of other information in to correlate with the 2012 world end. This other information might have a bearing or just might be unrelated information. Still makes a good read.
The only solution is to worry about the things we can do something about and just not worry those that we really can't do much about.
Cheers

Hardly worth worrying about global warming anymore then is it. North pole going to end up around the equator anyway. Though I guess once everyone pays the carbon tax then the earth shall remain unharmed.

how long have the doomsayers been around? ... so if we worried about the "end is nigh",the worlds ends tomorrow, then there is bugga all we can do about it so just get on with life and do what makes you happy
and I wish all the doomsayers shutup until there is 1000% assurance that the "world will end" and stop scare mongering, its getting boring

I would worry more about wars, taxes,Crook politicians, being ripped off or being mugged, and worse still, someone finding a bloody big nugget that I have missed, these things will happen and are predictable, the end of the earth is not.

Re: Your compass may soon be useless
oh no shock horror. magnetic flux anarchy. how brutal it will be...
all the satellites will fall from the sky as they won't know which way is up and all their base stations on earth will migrate east (or west depending which side your on...), polar bears will migrate down the east & west coats of oz and nz.... victorians will go north in summer and queenslanders will go south in winter, those in wa will stay in wa
high voltage electrical cables will temporarily attract or repel causing massive arcing because none of them are secured, eskimoes will become lost zombies roaming for their missing flux... ohhh, the anarchy of it all.
as for me, i may just turn my compass bezel 180 degrees....
now is the south side of the hills and trees mossy, or is it the north!!

Panther and the U/S Compass?
G'day Panther,
yes mate it could all become a problem if we take it too seriously. Peraonally (and I go bush regularly with map - 1:25,000) - compass and GPS set to UTM) I'm fairly confident that for the next 20 years, or 30 if I'm extremely lucky and stay off the grog to preserve my gizzards to a reasonable extent, I'll never need to worry about the North and South poles dropping out of synch all that much.
Good post though - certainly gets you to thinking.

Re: Your compass may soon be useless
Hi Forrester, Yeah well when I made that comment I was thinking that anyone that is using a compass for orienteering etc may have to make allowances and also when Boy and Girl Scouts are being taught the art, maybe it should be pointed out to them.
Now I am wary of what I read on the web too but something interesting has just surfaced in regard to poleshift and I leave it up to everyone to do their own research and come to their own conclusions.
Apparently an American talkshow host, Alan Jones, had an interesting call from an 'insider' stating that poleshift may be going to occur very soon, like maybe around the 7th March. Now I know that no-one can say for sure when, BUT, when Homeland security becomes involved and threatens Alan Jones to withdraw and edit what is released, then insists ALL videos are withdrawn from Youtube and threats are made against anyone who has posted these videos, well, you have to wonder what the hell is going on.
As I mentioned in another post, the Timeline Theory points to the 22nd of March. Should we at least be aware? There are many more indicators that there are going to be 'changes' but it is up to yourselves to do the research and reach your OWN conclusions. Myself? I haven't reached any conclusions but I am keeping an open mind and I have a new Generator ordered.... lol
