Vic Goldfields - painful
Went to Heathcote yesterday, and with all the rain the Vics have been having, every dighole was full of water and ................. mozzies.
Yep the goldfields are full of mozzies, so if you want to detect around diggings you better not miss any skin with repellant. I missed my hands and looked down to find three of them on my fingers.
Drove on top of a hill and there met Dan from Boronia - wearing shorts. Unfortunately for him we stopped for a talk and then they descended on his legs
Good luck if you are going out - you have been warned!
Jeff

they are the absoulute worst! I get attacked everytime we go out, they seem to always find the spots the repellant missed, always biting me through my clothing, I break out in the hugest welts from mossies, bloody hate em! lol

Re: Vic Goldfields - painful
Was out today - amazing not one bite But there were heaps around
I always wear jeans detecting.
Shorts in the bush >>> NEVER
Use plenty of repellent... PLENTY ++++++
Also have tried those mozzie repellent shirts. They seem to stop the buggers biting through..

Re: Vic Goldfields - painful
Started at 9am this morning lasted 30 minutes, thought i had some roll on left but no.......jumped back in the car and bought a big can at the local supermarket...back out again, not one after i sprayed that can everywhere.
Dug alot of ground noise due to the wet ground, found lead and the usual rust tiny bits and no gold...Huey is going through a drought at the moment, i am giving it a real crack but will persist until i do again...maybe i need help

Ararat.
Looks like it has travelled a long way or has lots of water running over it.
Cheers Greg.
